Over the years the Firm has maintained and continues to maintain its Insurance Defense Practice representing multiple insurance companies and self-insured’s. The Firm’s practice has expanded to include Plaintiff’s Personal Injury work and contract actions. Most recently the Firm has become more involved with patient healthcare issues, such as insurance coverage, denial of benefits, ERISA claims, informed consent and other related areas.

The Firm is also involved in issues pertaining to the Elderly. These can include: consumer fraud, age discrimination, healthcare issues, nursing home abuse and general business litigation.

About the Founder

Ms. Maw founded the Firm in 1992 as an Insurance Defense Firm, handling general and complex litigation and litigation of a scientific and technical nature. Since that time, the Firm has become more involved in Elder and Healthcare Law.

Prior to forming this Firm, Ms. Maw spent nine years with Strong & Hanni, a mid-size Insurance Defense Firm, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she was a shareholder. While there, she represented many insurance carriers and the insureds, in complex litigation matters.

Because of her background in biochemistry, Ms. Maw is very well suited to handle cases that involve health and environmental issues, toxic torts and any litigation of a scientific and/or technical nature.

Ms. Maw worked as a research biochemist from 1976-1983, at both Columbia and Rockefeller Universities in New York City. She also worked as a biochemical consultant for various private industries dealing with regulatory compliance and performing evaluations and analysis of the environmental and health effects of various chemical compounds. In the late 1980’s she was employed with U.S. Steel Corporation where she established and maintained programs addressing worker health, environmental and safety issues and the handling and disposal of toxic chemicals.
